Reseeit

As part of University course, I chose to Re-think & Re-imagine Receipts

If you’re like me, you shove receipts into your wallet, purse, or pockets, fearing we may need them later for purposes such as proof of purchase, refunds, budgeting etc. They make you look a messy person who dont have their life together. When you get around to it (barely ever), you do a spring cleaning of sorts where you throw away most of your receipts and pile up the ones you might need. Then you deal with that pile 6 months later when you remember to clean out your wallet again, which involves going back to your old piles, reassessing your old receipts, and wasting tons of time.

The idea is simple, an app in which you can easily get your receipt by either taping on retailers NFC device or by scanning a standardized formatted paper receipt.

The eventual goal of “Reseeit” is to get rid of paper receipts completely. There are many useful things that can be done with the data we get from receipts and transactions in general. “Reseeit“ takes advantage of all this information.

All the receipts will be organised by category such as traveling, food, entertainment etc and will show other useful information such as how much you spent on a day and which category.
